5) Once the Podmng software has completed scanning the network a Window similar to that shown in Fig 3 will appear and all the instruments identified on the network will be listed.

Only after the instruments are identified will it be possible to make any system configuration changes.

Fig 3 demonstrates how 3 instruments will appear within the software.

Data Acquisition Operations

6) To start data acquisition operations

Select
File -> Run Mode

The task bar icon will change from from Red to green (See Fig 4).

Identifying Instrument IP Address

The initial instrument IP address is shown on the top of the unit at time of shipment. As the IP address is user definable then it is possible that this address may have been changed.

To find out new address:

1) Ensure NDACS is connected to PC by cross over cable
or onto local area network

2) Using Podmng software
Configure ® Scan Network

The software will scan network and identify any instrument found regardless to IP address.

3) Move the mouse pointer above the identified instrument names as shown in the main window (See Fig 3) and the IP address will be shown.

Figure 4 shows the task bar icon that appears on the bottom right hand side of the windows task bar. When the icon is green data is being acquired and when red it has stopped.

Error Log

When running a series of instruments across a network then it can be important to see the data transmission statistics in order to identify any errors such as network or instrument failure. The Podmng software contains and error log system that can be used to identify errors and shows statistics for packets lost, packets recovered , packets lost and instrument operating status.

To See Error Log

1) From Podmng main Window (Fig 3)
