Connection Details Model TS103-A/2 - ITM Soil Instruments

The following details show the connections to be used for the TS103-A/2 module when utilising the ITM Soil range of liquid level tilt sensors.

Analogue Output

Connection JP5 is used to connect to the analogue output representation of the tilt signal. The analogue output signal utilises a 16 bit DAC to convert the sensor signal to an analogue output.

Analogue output is single ended only and always within range 0 - 2.5V DC. A data logger or acquisition system is used to convert signal to engineering value representation of the tilt angle.

Temperature Compensation Signal

The temperature compensation signal is only available via the cable free data operation and not locally via an analogue output.

Tilt Sensor Connection

Sensor connectors JP1 & JP2 are used for connecting the tilt sensors to the signal conditioning unit and are identical in their signal input specification.

Power Supply

The TS103-A/2 tilt meter signal conditioning unit requires a minimum 6V DC for continuous operations. Under no circumstances should any input supply be greater than 9V DC.

Solar Panel Specification and Installation

The power connectors JP3 and JP4 are identical in their input configurations. The Solar cell specification for continuous operations should be rated 6V @ 5 mA and the Solar cell input JP3 includes a reverse polarity protection diode.
