OPERATIONS
The KEYNES CONTROLS LTD. Ethernet data acquisition system
is a low cost member of the KEYNES CONTROLS family of data
acquisition products that operate external to a host computer system
and communicate their data over Ethernet local area networks. The
NP4000's utilise the open systems environment of Ethernet to
integrate data acquisition into standard plant wide networks, therefore
making data available for use with network resources and/or further
processing by networked software and/or databases.
Due to the flexibility of the NP4000 Ethernet interface system,
the data acquisition unit can be interfaced directly to most standard
local area networks. The NP4000 communicates using standard
TCP/IP protocol, providing a non-proprietary interface to virtually
any host computer system. Each NP4000 has it's own unique
IP address which is used to identify the units in the control
system on a network.
Plug & Go operation. Connect the Pod to a network and see the data
instantly. The same drivers that support network operations can be used
for serial data transfer for local control applications. |

What makes the control of the NP4000 unique is in it's simplicity
to configure and operate. No longer do you have to worry about
complex set-up routines, just plug and go. The KEYNES CONTROLS
data recording software automatically detects each new Pod as it is
connected to the network. All the user need do is assign a device name
to identify the data source and the required global sample rate.
The high resolution data acquisition system used within the NP4000
ensures the highest possible signal to noise ratios are achieved. The use
of high resolution ADC's ensures that sensor amplifiers and the noise
problems they introduce, are not required for most data recording
and control applications.
The KEYNES CONTROLS NP4000 is an ideal product for
measuring pressure, voltage, temperature, resistance etc. The unit
features 16 optically isolated differential inputs as standard and can be
directly interfaced to most sensors by use of one of the many analogue
input boards. Data buffering is to provided to store information within
the modules in case of temporary network failure or disconnection.
Cost effective... NP4000's contain all items required for reliable
data acquisition operations. What you get is all you need - there is no
requirement for expensive signal conditioning, filters, and environmental
packaging. There are no hidden costs with the NP4000.
Model 4001 is ideally suited for stand-alone and laboratory monitoring tasks.
An OEM version of the instrument supplied without a case but containing all
modules is available. User specified interface boards can be produced to
integrate the NP4000 instrumentation to most customer sensor. |

The model 4001 NP4000 is the desk top model of the companies
data acquisition systems. Simply connect the unit to one of the specified
network types and enjoy the flexibility of a truly modern approach to data
recording operations. Information can be gathered in the laboratory and
reviewed at convenience in the office.
The Pod utilises advanced management operations to store the control and
configuration details. No configuration files are maintained on the host system
and so their loss or corruption cannot influence the data recording operations.
All control parameters are stored within the Pods themselves and transmitted to
the display software upon starting the system drivers and upon operator requests.
Management information can be stored directly into the Pod. This facility
allows an operator to maintain concise and accurate information about the
source of the input data. Modifications to the systems management
is automatically updated on all analysis PC's.
