The VibWire-108 is the most basic of the Keynes Controls vibrating wire interface family of products containing only the analogue output channels for connection to a data acquisition system or analogue logger unit.
The instrument contains all the other standard features of the VibWire range such as on-boar frequency display, gas discharge sensor protection and on-board speaker. Each of the sensor inputs are individually configurable
The Vibrating wire excitation circuit automatically follows the resonant frequency of the sensor and so uses only the minimum amount of energy to activate the sensor and so reduces the wear on any attached device. The instrument also contains jumper configurable analogue inputs that are used to read the vibrating wire temperature compensation sensor, 4-20 mA inputs or 0 - 2.5 V DC inputs.
The 2.5 V DC inputs have been optimised to use the TS-103 electro-level interfaces enabling tilt sensors to be attached to the instrument and the levels digitised as part of the VibWire-108 sensor scan operation.
An analogue output representation of the sensor signal is used to connect to the external data acquisition system and is level is held at the appropriate level and only changes after the next scan of the instrument should a new sensor level be detected.
